You can find the System Settings in the lower left corner of the App.
Click on the Gear Icon to flyout the System Settings menu.

Global System Settings
- Set the Temperature Unit (Celsius / Fahrenheit)
- Set the TimeFormat (12h/24h Format)
- Set the Location (Search for your Location)
- Set the Language (English for now, more will come)
Backup
Click on Create Instant Backup this creates an encrypted hoobs.backup File that downloads to the Device your running the HOOBS Client App on.
This will also create an Automatic Backup Entry that is stored on your HOOBS Device.
Restore from Automatic Backup
HOOBS stores automatic Backups at important system events as Plugin Installation, Bridge Generation
These Automatic Backups are stored locally on your HOOBS Device.
Select the Backup from the list of Automatic Backups and click on Restore
A confirmation prompt will pop up and you need to confirm the restore process.
This will Log you out of the HOOBS Client App and the Device will restore the Backup.
This may take several minutes depending on how many Bridges/Plugins /Accessories you have.
After a successful restore you should be back online and you can Login again.
You will have to confirm this action.
Upload a System Backup
You can upload your Backup via Drag and Drop or click on Browse File to select the Backup from your Device.
A confirmation prompt will pop up and you need to confirm the restore process.
This will Log you out of the HOOBS Client App and the Device will restore the Backup.
This may take several minutes depending on how many Bridges/Plugins /Accessories you have.
After a successful restore you should be back online and you can Login again.
Factory Reset
This Reset Method will erase all data, but keeps the automatic Backups on the Device.
You will be able to restore from the on device Backups or upload a Backup.
WARNING – This will erase all userdata. You need to re-setup HOOBS entirely
Click on Factory Reset
A confirmation prompt will pop up and you need to confirm the Factory Reset process.
This will Log you out of the HOOBS Client App and the Device will perform the Factory reset.
This may take several minutes.
After a successful Factory Reset your Device should be back online and you can start from a fresh Device.
About
In the About Section you find the following informations:
- FCC ID
- Matter ID (if applicable)

Network
- Shows the status of the Ethernet connection
WiFi
Enable / Disable WiFi with the Toggle to the right
Wifi automatically starts scanning for available networks, click on the WiFi Name you want to connect to, enter the Password and click Connect
The device will get connected to the Wifi Network and updates the Wifi status. You can then safely remove the Ethernet cable.
For the Initial Setup its required to Setup HOOBS via wired Ethernet Connection.
Afterwards you can use WiFi only, but its not recommended. A wired connection for critical infrastructure such as HOOBS is always recommended.
Thread
This option is exclusively available on HOOBS Pro Hardware
As for now HOOBS Pro acts as a Thread Border Router into your Home Network.
If fetches the traffic from Thread accessories and forwards it into your Home Network to control them in your Ecosystem.
This Thread Border Router acts as a supporting node for the Thread Network and provides an additional communication way to improve the overall sustainability of your Thread Network
This is the only option at the moment, more options will be added later
Logout
Does what is says. It logs you out of the Device.
