Here we explain how the HOOBS Ecosystem works and how the Hub, the Bridges and Plugins work together.

HOOBS is the Hub and acts as the main software for the Bridges and Plugins.

The Hub can contain multiple Bridges. Each Bridges needs to be Paired to Apple Home with a separate QR-Code.

A Bridge can contain multiple Plugins. Each Plugin can be installed on one or Multiple Bridges.
Example: You can install a Plugin into an existing Bridge that is already connected to Apple Home or you can Install a Plugin and create a new bridge for it.
If you choose the second Option and create a new bridge you will need to pair this Bridge separately to Apple Home.

The advantage of using a separate bridge is that if a plugin misbehaves or fails the other bridges aren’t affected because they run independently from each other.

The Hub controls the bridges.
